Montana State and Bozeman High musicians join forces with Nov. 9 fundraising concert

Music ranging from the Gillespie to Mendelsohn will be featured at "BHS at MSU," a Nov. 9 benefit concert featuring talented musicians who have roots at both Montana State University and Bozeman High School.

The event is scheduled at 7:30 p.m. in Reynolds Recital Hall. The concert will have a variety show structure with many different genres of music ranging from jazz and contemporary to classical, will benefit student scholarships.

Julia Cory, a Bozeman High graduate who is now visiting cello instructor at the MSU School of Music, coordinated the event and will also perform.

Ryan Matzinger, a jazz musician performing under the name Ryan Montana as well as the saxophone instructor in the MSU School of Music, will play with some of his MSU students. Matzinger and some his e students are alumni of Bozeman High.

Mike Certalic, an MSU graduate who is director of the orchestra program at BHS, and his students will play with members of the MSU Symphony Orchestra.

Tickets to the concert are $10 for general admission and $5 for students. All proceeds will be used to establish a scholarship fund for Bozeman High School music students who attend MSU.
