The events, which are designed to recognize veterans and coincide with Veterans Day, include a panel discussion, reception, open house, and special tribute during a Bobcat football game. The events are free and open to the public.
The date, time and location of events include:
*Women in the Military panel discussion. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, in the Procrastinator Theatre. A screening of the film "Lioness" will follow the discussion, and light refreshments will be served. The event is sponsored by MSU's President's Office, Division of Student Success, Women's Center and Veteran Services.
*Red, White, Blue and Gold Reception. The reception is set for 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at the MSU Alumni Foundation. The event is sponsored by the Office of the President and the MSU Alumni Foundation.
*MSU Veteran Center Open House. The open house begins at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the MSU Veteran Center, located in SUB 185.
*Freedom Weekend Tailgate. Participants are invited to gather beginning at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the southwest corner of the Bobcat practice fields on Kagy Avenue. The event is sponsored by the MSU Alumni Association.
*Special tribute to veterans and Veterans Appreciation Game. A tribute to veterans will be given during halftime of the Nov. 10 football game versus Portland State. The game kicks off at 1:35 p.m. A limited number of complimentary tickets to the game are available to MSU student-veterans on a first-come, first-served basis. MSU student-veterans who would like a complimentary ticket should contact Brenda York at 994-3661.
