BOZEMAN - Ritchie Boyd, academic technology specialist in the Office of the Provost at Montana State University, recently assumed the vice chairmanship of the WCET steering committee, a cooperative organization that promotes educational technology strategies for the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE).

Boyd was selected by his colleagues at the WICHE Cooperative for Educational Technologies (WCET) because of his focus on developing and supporting instructional technology and e-learning opportunities for faculty and students, in addition to creating professional development opportunities for K-12 teachers and administrators. Boyd is also interested emerging technologies and social networking tools and their impact on education and society.

Boyd has been active with WCET as a steering committee member and in other roles for a number of years. Boyd will become chair of the committee of WCET steering committee following his term as vice chair. He assumed his current role during the

WCET is membership-driven, non-profit provider of strategies and services that accelerate the adoption of effective practices and policies, advancing excellence in technology-enhanced teaching and learning in higher education.
