BOZEMAN - Lean Enterprise training continues to be foundational to manufacturing competitiveness as well for health care and other sectors. The Montana Manufacturing Extension Center and MSU-Billings City College have joined up to offer a one-day workshop on lean manufacturing techniques, also known as the Toyota Production System, on Jan. 31 in Billings.

The event runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Health Science Building off the Central Avenue campus. It includes a live factory simulation to let participants apply lean methods and observe their impacts as they learn key principles.

Lean techniques can be implemented with little or no capital expenditures. Adopting lean system techniques improves competitiveness and productivity during the economic recovery.
