BOZEMAN - Montana State University is offering two online Spanish classes this summer, each designed for professionals in a specific field.
"Spanish for Business" runs May 15 through July 3 and includes the words, phrases and situations most likely to occur for business professionals who converse with Spanish-speaking employees, colleagues or trade partners. The course also covers Hispanic cultural aspects relevant to business and finance. The instructor is Katharina Frank Berstein.
"Spanish for Educators" runs June 24 through Aug. 2 and is designed to give educators the basic skills needed to communicate both orally and in writing with their Spanish-speaking students and the parents/caretakers of their students. The course will address the basic grammar structures, vocabulary and expressions relevant to education, as well as Hispanic culture. The instructor is Sally Sanchez.
Both courses are offered fully online and are designed for students who have little or no previous Spanish knowledge.
Intermediate or advanced Spanish language learners can also benefit from refining their communication and etiquette skills within the context of their professions. Students and professionals from backgrounds other than business or education may also enroll in either course.
Visit Montana State Online's summer and fall course listings at http://eu.montana.edu/online/courses for more information and to register. Both courses are listed under Modern Languages.
A course called Spanish for Healthcare professionals will run this fall.
