Northern Plains Transition to Teaching (NPTT), an online graduate-level teacher preparation program based at Montana State University, is now accepting applications for a group that will begin Sept. 15.
The preferential deadline for applications is Tuesday, Aug. 27.
The NPTT program is designed to help seasoned professionals who already have degrees in teachable areas transition into careers as secondary school teachers. The program leads to secondary teacher licensure, which is the same license as that earned with a four-year education degree.
Since the program is taught entirely online, students do not have to be based in Bozeman, or even Montana, to enroll.
Students who successfully complete the program will be recommended for full licensure, typically within two years of their start date. Individuals who qualify also may be eligible to earn a master's degree in curriculum and instruction by fulfilling additional requirements.
