BOZEMAN – Montana State University’s Extended University offers several non-credit graphics courses in October.
“Photoshop Basic” begins Oct. 8 and covers multiple aspects of Web and print design using the industry standard in digital imaging software. The five-session course includes hands-on training in using text, layers and layer effects; adjusting, retouching and resizing images; using Adobe Bridge; and learning about raster and vector graphics. The course meets Tuesday/Thursday afternoons from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 8, 10, 15, 17 and 22. The instructor is Chris Schultz.
The course “iPad Navigation and Know How” meets Oct. 14, 28 and Nov. 4 and is ideal for iPad owners who want to learn about apps, videos, iCloud, syncing, social media, navigation, maps, Facetime and more. The course is $89 and is taught by Julie Heard. Participants should bring their own iPad.
On Oct. 23, Extended University presents a three-hour evening seminar called “Graphic Design Fundamentals for Non-Designers.” The course is designed for people who develop posters, brochures, ads and other promotional materials and want to learn basic graphic design strategies. The course is from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and the price is $59. The instructor is Marla Goodman.
Dreamweaver Basic runs from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 7, 9, 14 and 16. Dreamweaver is Adobe's Web development software that allows users to create and modify professional Web pages. This course is for those just starting out using the software or for students who need a refresher. The instructor is Connie Campbell.
Other courses beginning in October cover Excel, Quickbooks Microsoft Word and Outlook.
