BOZEMAN — Monica Lindeen, Montana commissioner of insurance, will discuss the Affordable Care Act and how it will affect Montanans during a free public forum on Friday, Nov. 8.
The event, sponsored by Wonderlust, a lifelong learning organization affiliated with MSU's Extended University, is part of the Friday Forum series.
Lindeen will address an array of ACA-related questions. Who will benefit from the ACA and how? How is the enrollment process working in Montana? How was the Medicaid expansion supposed to work, and, given that the Montana Legislature didn’t fund that expansion, and what will happen regarding Medicaid expansion in the next legislature? How will the ACA affect local organizations like Community Health Partners and Bozeman Deaconess Hospital? And, in general, is the ACA likely to have significant impacts on health care costs?
The forum begins at noon at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 2118 S. Third Ave. in Bozeman. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lunch. Cookies and coffee will be provided.
