BOZEMAN—Montana State University School of Music faculty member Ryan Matzinger will join other jazz musicians in concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 19 at Reynolds Recital Hall on the MSU campus as part of Camp Epic. The public is invited and admission is $20 at the door.

Featured musicians include New York trumpeter Jack Walrath, Colorado tenor saxophone Peter Sommer, Los Angeles drummer Alex Platt, Chicago bassist Emma Dayhuff, Colorado pianist Tom Amend and Helena tenor saxophonist Sam White.

Joining the Bozeman Jazz Cats in presenting Montana-inspired modern jazz are Craig Hall, Matzinger, Dan Conwell and Jake Fleming.

The concert will feature both traditional and modern jazz and will include Camp Epic students selected to perform with the professional musicians.

Camp Epic is a week-long jazz camp sponsored by Jazz Montana, in conjunction with Hand Me Down Some Silver, held June 16 through 20, focusing on furthering the musical skills of middle school and high school jazz players of all levels. Register online at
