BOZEMAN -- Paddy Fleming, a fifth-generation Montanan whose family first came to Montana in 1862, was recently appointed interim director of the Montana Manufacturing Extension Center, an outreach center at the Montana State University College of Engineering. 

He replaces retiring MMEC Director Steve Holland.

Fleming has deep roots with MMEC, serving as the Kalispell area field engineer from 2001-2003. He later became a MilTech field engineer from 2006 through 2013 and was again the MMEC field engineer for the Kalispell region from 2013 to 2014.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from MSU and a Master of Business Administration from Olivet Nazarene University. 

Outside of MMEC, Fleming has managerial, engineering and industrial experience in machinery manufacturing, corrugated box manufacturing, hexacomb paperboard manufacturing, and aluminum casting while working with companies such as MarquipWardUnited, International Paper, Tenneco, Pactiv and Timberline Tool.
