BOZEMAN -- A free public lecture about the interplay of growth and patterns in nature will be given Thursday, April 30, at Montana State University. 

Arnd Scheel, associate department head in the School of Mathematics at the University of Minnesota, will speak at 4:10 p.m. in the Procrastinator Theater in the Strand Union Building. His lecture, titled "Growth and Patterns," is part of MSU's Mathematical Sciences Colloquium Series.

The Department of Mathematical Sciences, the dean of the College of Letters and Science and the Office of the Vice President for Research, Creativity and Technology Transfer are sponsoring this lecture. For more information, contact the Department of Mathematical Sciences at 994-3601.
