Montana State University Extension in Gallatin County will host a water bath canning workshop Wednesday, Aug. 26, and a pressure canning workshop Wednesday, Sept. 9. Both workshops will be held in the food lab in room 120 of Herrick Hall on the MSU campus. Registered dietician nutritionist and graduate student Lindsay Ganong, along with interns in the Montana Dietetic Internship, will instruct the classes.

Each class will teach safe canning techniques, basic steps, proper techniques for specific foods, necessary supplies, where to find recipes and the best ways to preserve the harvest.

The registration fee of $10 is due to the MSU Extension Gallatin County office to reserve a spot in the class. Space is limited to 25 participants for each class. Parking on campus is free after 6 p.m.
