Bozeman -- The Montana State University College of Engineering is hosting a spring Engineering Design Fair Friday, April 23, from noon to 6 p.m. in SUB Ballroom A on campus. The event is free and open to the public.

Seniors from electrical, computer, chemical, mechanical, mechanical engineering technology and industrial engineering will display posters and exhibit equipment showing engineering design projects.

Projects include product prototypes, new technologies, unique solutions to challenging problems, multidisciplinary design projects and a wide variety of subjects within engineering.

As part of their degree requirements, senior-level engineering students are required to work on a group project that solves real-world engineering problems. Students in disciplines outside of engineering are sometimes involved, as are industrial partners like Boeing, Tektronix, the Montana Space Grant Consortium, Engineers Without Borders or local entrepreneurs. The fair allows students to present posters and display prototypes of their designs showing accomplishments that are either works in progress or will be completed by the end of the spring semester.
