Montana State University will celebrate Homecoming with a variety of events set for Sept. 26-30.

The theme of the MSU 2017 Homecoming is “No Place Like Home.” A complete schedule of MSU Homecoming events follows by date, time and location: 

Tuesday, Sept. 26:

  • Rocking R Bar homecoming bingo, 7 p.m. downtown Bozeman. 
  • Judging of MSU office and residence hall decorating contest from 9 a.m to 5 p.m.
  • Voting for homecoming royalty begins at 7 a.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 27:

  • Barbecue on the Centennial Mall, 11 a.m.-1 p.m


Thursday, Sept. 28

  • Jake Jabs College of Business and Entrepreneurship Homecoming Awards, 5 p.m. Risa Scott Lab in Jabs Hall.
  • Hausser Lecture by J.D. Trout, philosopher of science, cognitive scientist, lecturer, nonfiction author and professor at Loyola University Chicago, 6 p.m. Hager Auditorium at the Museum of the Rockies. Presented by the MSU Department of History and Philosophy. More information is available here.
  • Honors College Homecoming Awards, 7 p.m. SUB Ballroom B.
  • MSU women's volleyball vs. Portland State University, 7 p.m. Shroyer Gym.
  • Voting for homecoming royalty ends 7 p.m.
  • GO CATS lighting, 9 p.m. outside Hedges residence halls.
  • Note: Annual homecoming bonfire is canceled due to fire bans.

Friday, Sept. 29 (Blue and Gold Friday)

  • Coffee Cats at MSU Library. Coupons available at the MSU Alumni Foundation building.
  • College of Nursing Homecoming Awards, 10:15 a.m. Leigh Lounge, SUB.
  • College of Agriculture Homecoming Awards, 10:30 a.m. Linfield Hall.
  • College of Letters and Science Homecoming Awards, 2 p.m. Leigh Lounge, SUB.
  • College of Education, Health and Human Development Homecoming Awards, 2:30 p.m. Hall of Fame Room of Fieldhouse.
  • College of Engineering Homecoming Awards and Scholarship Reception, 4 p.m. SUB Ballrooms.
  • College of Arts and Architecture Homecoming Awards, 4 p.m. Copeland Gallery, Haynes Hall.
  • Alumni Friday at the R-Bar, downtown Bozeman.
  • Homecoming Pep Rally, 5:30 p.m. downtown Bozeman.
  • 100 Years of MSU Greek Life, fraternity/sorority alumni social, 5:30 p.m. Element Hotel, $15 per person to attend. RSVP here.
  • Spurs and Fangs Class of 1970 Reunion, 6:30 p.m. LaQuinta Hotel, Belgrade. More information is available here.
  • Hike to Light the M. 7:30 p.m. at the M trailhead.
  • Homecoming movie night, 8-11 p.m. Romney Oval.

Saturday, Sept. 30

  • Chorale Recital, 9:30 a.m., Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
  • ASMSU Homecoming Parade, 10 a.m. downtown Bozeman.
  • Delta Gamma Reunion, 11 a.m. 418 W. Garfield.
  • Homecoming Tailgate, 11 a.m., Kagy practice field across from Bobcat Stadium. $25 per person. RSVP here.
  • MSU football vs. Weber State, 1:30 p.m. Bobcat Stadium. Homecoming royalty crowned at halftime.
  • Spurs and Fangs Class of 1970 reunion, 5 p.m. Beall Recreation Center. More information is available here.
  • MSU volleyball vs. Montana, 7 p.m. Shroyer Gym.
