Bozeman - Jerry Calvert, Montana State University political science professor and political analyst, will speak at Aspen Pointe at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June.9 on "Reforming the Montana Legislature: A Modest Proposal."

Topics include term limits and member turnover, size of the legislature, the need for annual sessions, and reining in the flood of bill introductions.

Calvert's current research encompasses understanding the political landscape of the "New West." He has been published in the Political Research Quarterly, and is a frequent guest on "Montana Focus" on Montana PBS.

The lecture is sponsored by Montana State University's College of Letters and Science. It is free and open to the public.
