In celebration of National Poetry Week, Greg Pape, Montana's second Poet Laureate, will be reading his poetry at Renne Library Friday, April 17, at 12 p.m.

Pape has been a member of the creative writing faculty at the University of Montana since 1987. He is the author of seven books of poetry, including American Flamingo, Border Crossings, and Black Branches. He has received two National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships, the Richard Hugo Memorial award for Poetry, a Pushcart Prize and others.
National Poetry Month, held in April, is a month-long, national celebration of poetry established by the Academy of American Poets. The concept is to widen the attention of individuals and the media to the art of poetry and to living poets.

Pape's visit to Bozeman is sponsored by the MSU Friends of the Libraries, Bozeman Public Libraries Friends of the Library and Humanities Montana.
