"Supervisor Boot Camp," a new workshop from Montana State University that can help supervisors increase productivity while avoiding employee dissatisfaction will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 6 and 7.

Sponsored by MSU Extended University and the Montana Manufacturing Extension Center, the workshop will cover effective techniques for supervisors, including time and stress management; methods for inspiring and coaching employees; identifying and maximizing personal leadership style; and guiding a team to greater independence and productivity. The workshop is appropriate for everyone from new supervisors to business owners to experienced personnel managers.

The instructor is Paul Bentley of Extended University's Leadership Program. Bentley has 18 years of leadership experience in private industry, government and non-profit agencies, including serving as global training manager for Micron CMS and as a leadership instructor at Boise State University.

The workshop will take place at MMEC, which is located at 2310 University Way, behind the Museum of the Rockies, south of Bobcat Football Stadium. Tuition is $174, and continuing education units (CEU's) are available from MSU.
