Grimsrud graduated from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., and received a Ph.D. in-chemistry at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1970. He has been a teacher and research scientist at several universities and was a professor of chemistry at MSU for 29 years. He has been an active participant in the field of atmospheric chemistry for more than 35 years. He presently lives near Kalispell.
