A four-week leadership course at Montana State University that will be offered Monday evenings beginning April 19 offers hands-on skills for current and up-and-coming leaders.

"Maximizing the Leader Within," offered by MSU's Extended University, is open to the public. It addresses many of the day-to-day challenges that leaders face, including managing time, coping with stress, and dealing with breakdowns in interpersonal communication that tap their energy, creativity and overall leadership effectiveness. The course includes several self-assessments, personal strategic plans and time to create measureable goals related to individual work situations.

The course will be held from 6:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. in room 102 Culbertson Hall on the MSU campus. The instructor is Paul Bentley, who has 20 years of leadership experience in private industry, government and non-profit organizations.

The course is $149 and includes all course materials. Students can also earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through Extended University. Members of the Prospera Business Network or the Chambers of Commerce in Bozeman or Big Sky are eligible for a 25 percent discount. Enrollment is capped at 24 students.
