An event showcasing Montana foods, as well as live comedy and music, will be held from 7-10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, at the Emerson Ballroom in Bozeman. "Culinary Cabaret - A play on food" includes a tapas-style dinner and dessert prepared by the chefs of Montana Epicurean, Sola Café and the Emerson Grill, as well as a live comedy performance from the Equinox Theatre Company and musical entertainment by Jawbone Railroad.

Tickets can be purchased for $25 in advance at Cactus Records, the Towne's Harvest Garden booth at the Bogert Farmers Market or by e-mailing msu.flf@gmail.com. Tickets at the door are available for $30. Tickets for the Jawbone Railroad performance only will be available at the Emerson Ballroom beginning at 9 p.m. the day of the event for $5. Proceeds from the event will benefit its sponsors: MSU Friends of Local Foods, Towne's Harvest Garden and the Gallatin Valley Food Bank.

Friends of Local Foods was formed in the fall of 2006 to bring concerned students, faculty and community members together to raise awareness about the value of locally grown food, create academic opportunities and conduct research. One project of Friends of Local Foods is Towne's Harvest Garden, MSU's 3-acre diversified vegetable farm.
