The choirs at Montana State University will perform in a fall concert, their first performance of the academic year, at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, in Reynolds Recital Hall.

The concert is free and open to the public. Reynolds Recital Hall is located in Howard Hall, across South 11th. Ave. from the MSU Duck Pond.

The three choral groups include the University Chorus conducted by Jon Harney, the MSU Chorale conducted by Kirk Aamot and the Montanans, also directed by Aamot.

The performance will include pieces by Orlando Gibbons, Karen Thomas and Paul Carey. The MSU Chorale will sing "Leonardo Dreams of His Flying Machine" by Eric Whitacre, which they recently performed at MSU President Waded Cruzado's inauguration and at the Museum of the Rockies while the "Leonardo's Machines in Motion" exhibit was on display.

For more information, e-mail Aamot at kaamot@montana.edu, or call the MSU Department of Music at 994-3562.
