Work from artists, architects and students will be displayed at the exhibit, which is being held in connection with the school's annual Celebration of Architecture on Feb. 24.
Trout U is also the subject of pieces submitted for a silent auction held at the Celebration of Architecture, which pays tribute to architecture education and the profession of architecture. This year, the school has asked artists submitting pieces to the auction to re-master and/or re-envision "trout." Both a silent and live auction will be held with the proceeds funding student scholarships.
About a decade ago fly fishing icon Bud Lilly began referring to his alma mater as "Trout U" because of the extensive trout and salmonid collection at the Renne Library as well as MSU programs that focus on fisheries, water and environments that sustain fish.
The exhibit will be open from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Feb. 21-23. Sponsors for the event include: Heebs East Main Grocery, Cardinal Distributing, Bronken Distributing, Gallatin River Lodge, The Travel Station and Van's County Market.
