Andrew Geers, associate professor of psychology from the University of Toledo, will present "Patients, pain, and medical care: How does treatment choice alter placebo effects" Friday, April 1, from noon-1 p.m. in SUB 233.

Geers researches the causes of, and influences on, placebo effects, and the initiation and maintenance of health beliefs and behavior. He is a social-health psychologist.

The event is open to the public. Lunch will be provided.

The talk is part of the Social Science Speaker Series, and is co-sponsored by the MSU Office of the Vice President for Research, Creativity, and Technology Transfer and MT INBRE.
