Montana State University nursing student Joe Twitchell was recently elected president of the National Student Nurses' Association (NSNA) during the organization's 59th annual convention held recently in Salt Lake City.

Twitchell, a Montana native, is pursuing a bachelor's degree in nursing at MSU and previously served as president of the Montana Student Nurses' Association. He also has a bachelor's degree in communications from Dickinson State University in Dickinson, N.D., and a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from MSU.

The National Student Nurses' Association represents more than 56,000 nursing students.
