WELLNESS COACHING FAQs

Wellness coaching is simply a conversation between you and a coach to help you discover and achieve your own personal path to wellness. Coaching helps you identify and create the conditions you need to make lasting change in regards to your wellness goals. Coaching encourages self-acceptance, positive mindset, and personal growth.

Everyone (even well coaches themselves)! Embarking on an adventure of behavior change is challenging for anyone; who doesn't need support along the way? To inspire self-discovery, perspective, and sometimes a good laugh, coaches walk with you on your journey to wellness, wherever it may take you!

The benefits of wellness coaching will be different for each individual. Well coaching can help you balance dimensions of well-being in a way that is meaningful to you. Whether that be coping with stress, working towards nutrition or activity goals, improving your time management skills or anything in between. Coaching is about having the conversation you want to have about your health.

Wellness Coaches believe that everyone has the power to take responsibility for their own health and partner with you to explore and overcome challenges that prevent you from doing so. It is our job to help you discover your inner strengths and motivation to reach your goals. By engaging in the coaching process you are empowered to take change into your own hands. At times, your needs may be outside a coaches' scope. In that case, your coach will refer you to another professional.

During your initial coaching session we will talk about what you vision for ideal wellness looks like. From there on out we will work together to set goals and help you achieve them. With some guidance, you set the agenda for the session. Your coach will follow your lead.

Wellness coaching is a free service to full time MSU Students.

That's up to you! For most individuals, a series of sessions is helpful to set and attain your wellbeing goals. You decide how long you work with a coach and when you are ready to maintain wellness on your own.

You can schedule online through the Student Health Partners Patient Portal.

You can also email us or give us a call at 994-2311 to request an appointment with a Wellness Coach. If you don't reach us, please leave a message and we'll happily call you back. DO NOT USE THIS EMAIL or VOICEMAIL IF YOU HAVE AN URGENT NEED!
