Avalanche Rescue Clinics

Learn to use an avalanche beacon and probe for the first time or refresh your skills and get some focused coaching with Outdoor Recreation Program staff on hand. All equipment provided, but feel free to bring your own gear to get more familiar with it. 

Cost: Better than free! Receive free avalanche safety rentals for the remainder of the Spring 2021 semester with completion of the clinic. 

When: Tuesdays, January 19 to March 2, 3:30-5pm

Where: Meet at the Outdoor Recreation Center, 1401 W Lincoln St. 

Intro to Ice Skating Clinics

Come join the team at the Outdoor Recreation Program for a fun introduction to ice skating! You will gain knowledge of the fundamentals of ice skating and get a chance to practice in the company of other beginners. We aim to create an inclusive space that welcomes all skill levels and backgrounds. Grab your friends and grab a mask, all are encouraged to participate! Please sign up on catsconnect to reserve your spot.

Note: Clinics will meet at the Outdoor Recreation Center to size skates and then the group will walk up together to the skating rink.  Masks will be required at all times.  

Cost: Better than free! Receive ice skate rentalsfor as long as the skating rink is open withcompletion of the clinic.

When: Mondays, January 25 to February 8, 3:30-5pm

Intro to Cross-Country Ski Clinics

Spend an hour learning to ski with our Outdoor Recreation Instructors! Both classic and skate skiing clinics are available, on Thursdays, 3:30-5pm. This is a great opportunity to gain more knowledge on the timeless sport and enjoy beautiful local trails. Intermediate clinics are also offered for those eager for more.

Cost: Better than free! Receive free cross-country ski rentalsfor remainder of the Spring 2021 semester with completion of the clinic.

When: Thursdays, January 21 to February 25, 3:30-5pm

Intermediate Cross-Country Ski Clinics

Expand your knowledge in the world of XC skiing! Both skating and classic clinics are offered. Whether you have skied for a while and wish to brush up on your technique, or are fresh off our beginner clinics and ready for the next step, our instructors are excited to show you the ropes. Each clinic is an hour and half long and meets at the Outdoor Recreation Center, 1401 W Lincoln St.

Climbing Wall

Intro to Bouldering Clinics

Roses are red, violets are blue, if you are interested in climbing, then this event is for YOU! This clinic is an introduction to the basics of climbing. You will gain knowledge of the fundamentals such as hold types, movement styles, and different techniques. You will also discover the inviting social atmosphere that exists in the climbing community. We aim to create an inclusive space that welcomes all skill levels and backgrounds.
