What is your favorite part about working in the Office of the Registrar?
"My favorite part about working in the Office of the Registrar is collaborating with people and departments across campus as we work towards creating an environment in which students can succeed and reach their full potential. Graduation days are my favorite days of the year! Go Cats!"
How do you help students at Montana State University?
"I help students mainly by scheduling academic courses and maintaining classroom inventory. In addition, I maintain the Course Catalog and its alignment with Degree Works, manage the university scheduling software, Ad Astra, and love to volunteer at events such as Orientation, Catapalooza, Ask Me Volunteering, Commencement and Convocation."
What do you like to do when you're not working?
"When I am not at work, I like to fish, camp, hike, soak in hot springs, craft & DIY, paint with watercolor, gem hunt/rock hound, bird watch, road trip throughout Montana, watch Denver Bronco and Bobcat football, cook, garden, and participate in the Pink Gloves Boxing program."
What is your favorite thing to do in Bozeman?
"My favorite thing to do in Bozeman is drive up Trail Creek Road in spring/early summer to see all the Mountain Bluebirds!!"
What is your best piece of advice to students at Montana State University?
"My best piece of advice to students is: Don’t be afraid to ask for help and be your own advocate.  We are all here to help you, and our biggest goal is to help you succeed! Travel/Study abroad, it will give you a different perspective of the world. You won’t regret stretching the limits of your comfort zone and your passport!"

General Information

The Office of the Registrar at Montana State University is the official custodian of unabridged student academic records past, present and future. The Registrar's staff plans and conducts student-registration, maintains and updates academic records, interprets and applies academic policies, certifies eligibility for baccalaureate degrees, determines resident fee classification for tuition purposes, schedules all academic classes and classroom facilities, maintains processes and provides information in support of academic grading and advising, verifies enrollment and degrees awarded, plans and directs the commencement ceremony, and determines eligibility for student participation in athletics, extracurricular and honor society activities, as required.

Mission

The Office of the Registrar values and reinforces the land grant mission of Montana State University, Bozeman, by empowering students to achieve their educational goals. This office subscribes to the highest ethical principles of our profession, maintains the accuracy, integrity, and security of all academic student records, and ensures full compliance with all related federal, state, and university regulations. Service is provided through open, collaborative, and accurate communication, respect for diversity, innovative improvements in efficiency and effectiveness, and an active commitment to an environment of collegiality, professionalism, and inclusiveness.
