Danforth Chapel is used for weddings, memorial services and religious events.
This non-denominational chapel was built in 1950-52 with the help of the Danforth Foundation and houses the keyboard from which the University carillon may be played. The carillon, a gift of Joseph Mares, class of 1924, plays every morning and evening and on special occasions such as commencement and presidential inaugurations. Stained glass windows in the chapel are a memorial to the men and women who died in World War II.
