Students Must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Complete all high school requirements.
  • Identify as an individual with an intellectual /developmental disability.
  • Adhere to the MSU Student Code of Conduct.
  • Demonstrate the ability to accept redirection and support.
  • Exhibit basic independence skills.
  • Manage personal hygiene independently.
  • Show a strong motivation and desire to attend college!

Cost = Standard MSU tuition and fees + a $500/semeseter program fee.

  • The number of credits a student enrolls in will determine the cost of tuition.
  • Standard MSU housing costs apply to all LIFE Scholars who live in the dorms.
  • Commuter meal plans are available for purchase.

Student payment options include:

  • Private pay
  • Scholarships
  • Vocational rehabilitation benefits
  • Pell grants awarded through FAFSA

On-campus Housing

Students with strong independent living sills are eligible to apply for on campus housing in the dorms.  MSU reserves a limited number of rooms for LIFE Scholars.  If interested, please complete the housing section of the LIFE Scholars application.

On campus housing is not guaranteed and is contingent on the availability of rooms and compatable roommates.
