MARIAS FAIR ARCHERY INVITATIONAL

All youth enrolled in the 4-H Archery project are invited to participate in the Marias Fair Shooting Sports Invitational hosted by the Marias Fair Shooting Sports Archery Committee in Shelby Montana, January 25th & 26th. 

The registration deadline is January 17th.The entry fee is $10 per discipline per child. Late registration fee is $15 per child per discipline and will be accepted up to the day of the tournament. Entry fee(s) can be paid online or paid by check made payable to “Blazing Arrows” which can be sent to the Pondera Co. Extension office at 20 SW 4th Ave, Conrad, MT 59425. The directions are listed on the Bow Score webpage. Marias Fair youth: be sure to check your county. Youth outside of Glacier, Liberty, Pondera and Toole counties just need to select other county. All youth are eligible for the Invitational awards, and Marias Fair youth who enter by January 17th are eligible for the Marias Fair awards. Any youth participants in the 4-county Marias Fair tournament who enter after the January 17tdeadline can still participate, but only in the invitational awards.

There is a Saturday, January 25th time slot at 4 p.m. (20 shooters) all other time slots are on Sunday, January 26th. There will be an adult/coach shoot at 3 p.m. and awards will be given out after the adult/coach shoot.

Proceeds from the tournament are split between the counties and goes to the shooting sports program. Volunteers are needed - Coaches, Adults and youth 14 or older. If you can lend a hand please sign up with the following Signup Genius link: Signup Genius. Training will be provided a half hour prior to the start time.

To register for the tournament:

Once logged in:

àEnter appropriate class and divisions from the drop down menu

àSelect appropriate line time

àOnce those 4 fields are filled out, click on register. It will confirm all complete registrations or kick up error in overlooked or incorrect field, highlighted in red

  • Bale assignments can be changed as follows:

àSelect assignments in the left menu column

àFind tournament and click on “Assignments” in left menu column(BowScore will automatically assign shooters to the first available bale that fits assigned criteria)

àTo change, you must click on the “‐“ behind the shooter you wish to move

àClick on drop down arrow on desired bale in the desired line time

                It will show the shooter as unassigned,

àClick on shooter’s name. It will put them on that bale

  • To enter a shooter in 2 different classes.

àClick on “My Registration” in left menu column, details of that shooter are shown

àNear the right menu (towards the top) you must select “Register Again”

àSelect “Continue” then go to “Assignments” and look for your shooter with the(2) behind it

àConfirm in “Assignments” that the shooter is in the correct line time and assigned to a bale

àYou may move that shooter by following the above steps

RECORD BOOKS

Have you started yours? Record books are easier to complete if you fill in information throughout the year.

All members must complete the following forms:

  • One “My 4-H Year”
  • One Project/Financial journal for each non-animal project you are enrolled in.
  • One Project/Financial journal for each animal project you are enrolled in.

You need to decide how you want to complete your record books from the following options.

1.Hand written paper forms (pick up at the Extension Office or download and print off http://montana4h.org/projects/support/record_books/index.html

2.Typed record book sheets. From the website above, Select, download and SAVE the needed record book sheets to your computer for each project. PDF forms are fillable so information can be typed in the fields.  Be sure to SAVE changes as you go.

3.Online Record Keeping - New this year. Montana 4-H is trying out a new tool called Zsuites. Record books can be accessed and completed online from any computer with wifi. PERFECT VISION FOR THE FUTURE

2020 REC LAB

This event provides an opportunity for youth and adults to enhance their leadership, communication and team building skills in an action packed and interactive setting. Rec Lab programming is designed to provide participants with tips and tricks for being a better club, camp and community leader. This is an ideal event for younger senior members to attend a state event for the first time and begin to form relationships with 4-H peers form across the state, broadening their own skills and widening their network.  

Rec Lab will be hosted by District 3 in Hobson on April 24-26, 2020. More information will be coming.

Youth participants must be 13+ as of October 1, 2019 and adult chaperones must be as least 21 years of age.

CHRISTMAS STROLL

Prairie Pals served hot dog meals at First Bank during the Christmas stroll. Proceeds from their sales went towards buying gifts for the community angel tree.

Tiber 4-H members held a bake sale at the Liberty County Library to raise money for their community service projects during the year including the angel tree, and the annual Easter egg hunt and pumpkin carving.
