The 4-H Council met on August 11th and chose Sunday, September 20th at 2:00 p.m. for Achievement Night, or rather Achievement Afternoon. It will be held in the City Park. Enrollment Best Practices

Enrollment is set up to be completed by the family using the Zsuite platform. Waivers and forms for both youth members and certified volunteers are online forms within the ZSuite enrollment process. If families do not have internet access or a computer or device to complete the process online there is a computer in the MSU Extension office that is available to use to complete the enrollment process. This ensures that the parent/guardian of members and the volunteer are completing

all of the legal authorizations.

RECORD BOOKS AND PROJECT BOOKS

The Liberty County 4-H Council has been discussing the need to clarify the requirements for both Record Books and Project Books.

There has been some confusion about what is required in Liberty County to complete a record book and a project book. Currently, both record books and project books are required to be filled out by members, but neither are judged. A committee will be developing some guidelines and hope to have them completed by September 20th.   These guidelines will be talked about at individual club meetings too and will be implemented for the 2020-2021 4-H year.

This year with the new Zsuite enrollment program a member will be able to access and fill in record books from any mobile device with an internet connection.

A computer will be available at the Liberty County Extension office during office hours for members and or leaders to be able to either sign up or just access their Zsuite account.

Guidance for Meetings

As a first step, please assess the risk factors for the individuals in your 4-H community. Postponing or not holding events where physical distancing is difficult is the best way to prevent contamination and transmission of the disease. Most club and project activities can take place, however, by simply increasing your sanitary practices, reducing close contact between participants, and eliminating or disinfecting shared items that many people touch.

If your club would like to hold virtual meetings please contact the Extension office for more information and best practices.
