ITEM No. 5 – RECOMMENDATION – On Campus City of Bozeman Fire Station

Presenter: Richard Rudnicki, Planning Manager

MSU and the City of Bozeman have agreed on a location for the Fire Station on campus. The location is adjacent to the Huffman Building which will allow for increased information-sharing with the MSU Police Department. This location is included in the University Masterplan, although the plan does not specify what type of building. The site will be provided to the city through a ground-lease arrangement and all services to the site will be provided by the City.

Approval by UFPB will allow the City to advance the project to be voted on as a referendum this fall by City of Bozeman residents, after which the final building and site design will be determined.

Duane Morris motioned to approve the location of the City of Bozeman Fire Station on MSU campus adjacent to Kagy Blvd. The motion was seconded.

The Vote: 13 Aye, 0 Nay.
