Ingrid DeGreef, a native of Dillon, earned her bachelor’s degree in earth science at Montana State University and went on to become a software engineering director at Lockheed Martin’s space division. She also served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from the Air Force Reserve as a lieutenant colonel. In these male-dominated areas, she has been a role-model for other women and has become a champion of diversity. A stalwart supporter of MSU’s efforts to support women students and faculty, DeGreef and her husband created a scholarship and made the largest single gift to the endowment for MSU’s Woman in Science Distinguished Professor Award, ensuring that leading female faculty in science and engineering fields at MSU are acknowledged and rewarded for their work.
