What is your academic history? I earned a B.S. in physics from University of Oregon in 2016. I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in physics working with Dr. Joseph Seymour and Dr. Sarah Codd in the Magnetic Resonance lab.

What is your research focus? I work in  collaboration with Bend Research Inc to look at pharmaceutical products. Mor e specifically, I use nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) to probe waxes in a noninvasive manner. Through NMR, explore phase transitions, material structure and composition and diffusion of semi solid materials.

What is/are your future career aspiration(s)? Ideally I would love to continue researching and contributing to the scientific community. If this is through the academic or industrial track, that has yet to be determined.

Why did you choose MSU for grad school? I first applied to MSU for the research occurring in the physics department along with their affiliate labs. When I visited, every graduate student, professor and post doc I came into contact with truly seemed happy to be here. All of them loved their research, the department along with Bozeman as a whole, which surprisingly is a hard combo to come by. The location and culture was a much larger component than I would have realized as an undergraduate.

What is one non-academic interest/hobby that you have/do? I really enjoy the outdoors. From running and hiking to currently learning how to backcountry ski, being active is something I value. Although, I do appreciate a good movie/book and Netflix binge.
