Dicerca sp.

Dicerca is a genus in the metallic woodboring beetle family, Buprestidae. The majority of adults in this genus prefer to feed on recently dead wood material from coniferous and deciduous trees. It can take several years for one beetle to complete its life cycle. Once a larva reaches adulthood, it hibernates in the loose bark of the tree on which it feeds.
