Bombus frigidus

Bombus frigidus is a medium-sized bumble bee. The queen ranges from 17- to 19-mm long and the workers range from 8- to 11-mm long. Its nests are often above ground, but can also be underground. Its populations are not steadily declining and is currently listed as "of least concern" under its conservation status. This species has adaptations that help maintain heat within its own body and within its colony, and is considered one of the few "warm-blooded" insects.
