Bombus sp.

There are more than 250 known species of bumble bee within the genus Bombus.  Members of this genus are typically found at higher altitudes in the northern hemisphere, but there are a few known species found in South America. Most species are social insects in colonies and all adults in the Bombus genus feed on nectar. Bumble bees are well-known for their round bodies covered in long soft setae, giving them the appearance of being a "fuzzy" insect.
