Tetramorium immigrans

This is a tetramorium immigrans queen ant, better known as a “pavement ant.” Worker ants of this species are frequently seen on sidewalks in late spring and early summer. Colonies can have more than 10,000 workers and are well adapted to suburban and urban environments. Native to Europe, they were introduced to North American in the 18th century.
