This is a jumping spider in the family Salticidae. Jumping spiders are capable of quick, powerful jumps while hunting or fleeing if feeling threatened. This genus of jumping spiders is in the family Salticidae, which is the largest family of spiders with over 6,000 known species. Jumping spiders are generally identified by their eye patterns.
