Michelle Miley joined the MSU Writing Center as Assistant Professor of English and Director of the Writing Center in Fall 2013. A Texas native, Michelle is learning the joys of living in the mountains. She came to MSU from the University of Houston Writing Center where she served for eight years as Assistant Director of Writing in the Disciplines. Her research interests include conceptualizing the Writing Center as a thirdspace, a creative space where the intersections of writing become visible. Michelle’s publications include “Using Online Studio Groups to Improve Writing Competency: A Pilot Study in a Quality Improvement Methods Course” in Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education (with Jamison Kovach and Miguel Ramos), and “The Mediating Lens of Online Writing Studios” in Academic Exchange Quarterly.
