EXPERIENCE:

1962-1964    Peace Corps Volunteer:  This coming summer Jack's Peace Corps group from 1962 is having a reunion in Montana after 48 years.  Jack learned from old friends organizing the reunion that they were not among the first 100 volunteers but probably the first 200 since they were preceded by three groups in the Dominican Republic (where Jack served) and in on St. Lucia.

1964-1967    While a student, employed at the University of Wisconsin Land Tenure Center as a translator for studies on land tenure patterns and social change in Latin America.

1968-1969    Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana, Teaching Associate.

1970-1973    University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wisconsin. While on an NDEA Fellowship, taught courses as a Teaching Assistant including a first-year intensive course.

1971-1973    Lecturer, University of Wisconsin. Coordinator of First Year Spanish: coordination/supervision of teaching assistants, co-director of course assignment committee.

1973-1978    Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Spanish, Montana State University.

1978   Summer Staff Member: Northwest Council of Colleges, Guadalajara, Mexico.

1978-1990    Associate Professor and Department Head of Modern Languages and Literatures, Montana State University, Bozeman, Montana. During my administration department majors increased by fifty percent. The department developed procedures for annual and all special reviews as well as a department-wide program of teaching evaluation. In academic year 1989-1990, I obtained funding for a modern language learning resource center.


CURRENT STATUS:

Professor Emeritus of Spanish, Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, Montana State University, Bozeman, Montana.
