Mathematics Education – Master of Science (M.S.)
The Mathematics Education graduate program at Montana State is an online graduate program designed to challenge candidates’ mathematical thinking and ignite their enthusiasm for secondary school mathematics teaching. Designed with working teachers in mind, the Mathematics Education program provides opportunities for teachers to apply what they’re learning in the program directly to their classrooms with projects that engage teachers and their students in exploring new mathematics content.

Candidates who wish to include coursework in science education as a supporting area
can, with faculty approval, apply credit hours of science education coursework toward
their Mathematics Education degree.

Distance Learning
Montana State’s online M.S. program in Mathematics Education is designed to provide outstanding graduate training opportunities and professional growth, all while working – and studying – in your region.
The entire program is specifically designed to complement a working professional’s present activities in the field, with the majority of the program delivered online. Students take online courses during the academic year and between one and three courses in an intensive three-week summer format.
