• Vaccination is one of the most effective means of limiting infectious diseases and improving public health, but current vaccination approaches have had limited success against some important human pathogens such as HIV, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Plasmodium falciparum, hepatitis C virus (HCV), and dengue virus.
  • Our recent work has shown that memory CD8 T cells induced by different vaccine vectors differ in their ability to mediate protective immunity.
  • The goals of this project are to determine the signals required to generate highly protective memory CD8 T cells and what are the features of those highly protective memory CD8 T cells.
