Plan Process

Fall 2020

  • Invited a group of student leaders of the Black Student Union, Fuerza Latinx, American Indian Council, international students, and student government, along with university leaders, to meet regarding students' racial equity concerns.
  • This BIPOC action planning group met weekly throughout the fall semester to move through this planning and development phase.
  • Met with key stakeholders across the university to discuss specific student challenges, identify barriers and opportunities, and exchange ideas. 
  • Drafted goals and actions that would capture the energy and intentions of the university community.
  • Developed and presented a drafted action plan with university leaders who are members of Leadership Council. 

Spring 2021

  • Establish implementation team.
  • Organize actions; add details about status of work.
  • Discuss timing and strategic considerations for all actions.
  • Reword and combine actions as needed for prioritization.
  • Prioritize actions, summarize priorities, and select top three priorities.
  • Establish timelines and metrics for actions.
  • Route priorities to the individuals responsible for each.
  • Update Diversity Council and begin monthly updates.

Ongoing
