What is Extension?

MSU Extension Service is an educational resource dedicated to improving the quality of people's lives by providing research-based knowledge to strengthen the social, economic and environmental well-being of families, communities and agriculture enterprises. MSU researchers and educators work together to help individuals in Montana thrive. The programs of the MSU Extension Service are available to all people regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, religion, age, disability, political beliefs, sexual orientation, and marital or family status. Issued in furtherance of cooperative extension work in agriculture and home economics, acts of May 8 and June 30, 1914, in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Dr. Cody Stone, Director of Extension Service, Montana State University, Bozeman, MT 59717.

Our Mission

MSU Extension is a statewide educational outreach network that applies unbiased, research-based university resources to practical needs identified by the people of Montana in their home communities.

It is our privilege to live and work in Blaine County serving you.

Beginning in March 2020, MSU Extension has started a new webpage that has resources for everyone in all types of situations. This includes resources and information on Community Health, for Families and Children, Agriculture Producers, and Business and Communities. This page is updated as new information becomes available. https://www.montana.edu/extension/covid19/

At MSU Extension, we will continue our mission of getting research based information to everyone who needs it. With that in mind, all of the MSU Extension MontGuides (do it yourself informational guides) are available at https://store.msuextension.org/.

This site includes many free downloads with research based information to help you. We are also working on scheduling online sessions for you to participate in from your home. We will get information to you as soon as it becomes available. If you are unable to get online but want more information on topics, please let us know. We would be happy to assist you.

Our MSU Blaine County Extension Facebook page will be updated often with new information. Like https://www.facebook.com/BlaineCountyExtension/?ref=bookmarks  to remain current on events and resources for Blaine County.
