Summer 2022 Montana 4-H Fairs
The county fair is a highlight of summer for many. For 4-H youth, it is a showcase of what they have learned and a celebration of hard work. During many fairs, youth continue to learn civil service and social skills while running events like petting zoos or exhibits that give knowledge back to the community.
“4-H learning is all year long, and helping kids complete a project and get to the fair lets them celebrate their accomplishments and specialized learning, highlighting their effort and the behind-the-scenes support of their family,” said Brett Schomer, Montana 4-H program and events coordinator.
Community members are invited to participate in 4-H through volunteering for events, leading a project, and more.
“Volunteers find value in the work. No matter the amount of time someone has, or their skills, there is a volunteer role for anyone,” said Schomer. Find more information about volunteering and supporting 4-H online. (http://montana4h.org/volunteer/index.html).
