Project Interview (required)

  • Exhibits will be judged for uniformity, maturity, varietal characteristics, freedom from disease, insects and injury. See 4-H Gardening Exhibitors Guide (Publication # 4-H-970-W) for suggestions for exhibiting.  There are also exhibition tips in each member manual for this project.
  • All vegetables must be placed on a white 9" paper/foam plate for exhibit. A plastic bag should be placed over the paper plate and vegetables.
  • Foliage on flowers should be removed unless it enhances blossom.
  • Vases/containers must be provided by the exhibitor. Use creativity as the type of container enhances your flower display; however, the container will not be considered in the judging.  Foam cups or tin cans are not permissible containers.
  • For fair exhibits, exhibitors must use only flowers/vegetables grown in their own garden.
  • Displays should be neat and attractive. Project manuals are not judged.
  • Live plant or cut flower exhibits that need watering during the Fair are the responsibility of the exhibitor.
