  • New Courses and Programs- Chair-Elect Richards – Issues/Concerns to Abbie. If none, will move them forward to steering
    • Course Changes:
      • BIOE 421: Yellowstone Wildlife Ecology
        • Changing from face to face to “blended”
      • CULA 103: Professional Chef I
        • +1 credit to align with CCN
      • HSTR 130D: Latin American History
        • Eliminating recitation

      • Major in Sustainability doesn’t have much of an overlap with the proposed minor
      • This will come back to FS for vote next time

  • Process and Perspectives: January 24th DH/Dean retreat- Chair Babcock
    • Abbie and Michael attended. Talk by VP R&ED about Center Processes
      • Center and Institute Process-
        • Questions regarding regulation/oversite of money coming in as donations/gifts
  • Workload Policy- Chair Babcock –
    • Draft- created taskforce in 2016
      • Make recommendations to be used to come up with policy draft
      • New Faculty Handbook took precedence – accepted June 2017
      • Workload Policy –
        • Units develop own plans
        • Specific types of assignments and distribution of % of effort
      • Workload Plan Guidelines
      • Questions - -
        • Discussion ensued about workload and if the numbers reflect reality.
        • Way to survey percentages from department to department that would be accurate?
        • Seems to be disconnect between reality and expectations
        • Expectations of hours in work week needs to be communicated. Then they could assign percentages to those hours
        • How do we deliver our teaching mission based on the ‘inequity’ of workloads across departments? How do we address them?
        • Any discussion about where administration falls into the percentages? How does it get managed since it’s not one of the three percentages?
        • Concerns/questions should be sent to Michael or Abbie. Take it to JAGS, discuss and report back. Policy will be presented paragraph by paragraph for review.
        • Provost Mokwa thanked Chair Babcock for FS feedback and reminded them that these are very preliminary drafts. Not being rushed through.
