I.  Call to Order at 3:10 pm

II.  Approval of the February 21th meeting minutes. Approved with the following correction. “will establish guidelines” instead of “with a report”.

III.  Discussion and Debate regarding CRAEA proposal

Last meeting – two procedural errors were discovered. First, motions at last meeting were made to postpone debate and establish ad hoc committees.

Senate should not link a motion to postpone with a separate motion.

The second procedural error was to treat the motion to postpone as non- debatable. Although a motion to table is not debatable, a motion to postpone is.

o   James Meyer motioned to postpone debate on CRAEA seconded by Tomas Gedeon.

§  Motion was debated.

§  Motion to end debate – Moved James Martin, seconded Robb Larson. Voted and passed to end debate.

§  Vote on the motion to postpone debate on the CRAEA proposal was called, none opposed and no abstentions. Motion passed.

o   Tomas Gedeon motioned to form a joint committee, (FS, DC, and RC) that would establish guidelines on the approval, review and sun downing centers. Motion was seconded.

·         Motion was debated

o   Sterman motioned to postpone debate until Faculty Senate Chair elect candidates address the senate. - moved, seconded and voted. Passed to postpone debate while nominees speak. Nominee Babcock and Nominee Walker make presentations.

o   Debate continued regarding membership of ad hoc committee.

o   Michael Brody motioned to amend the main motion to include a requirement of 50% faculty senators. Motion seconded.

·         Amendment to main motion was debated.

o   Gedeon motioned to postpone debate until after the election of the new chair-elect of FS. Motion seconded by Wiedenheft.

·         No debate.  Called question –

§  Vote on the motion to postpone debate (all approved, none apposed and no abstentions. Motion passes.

o   Chair-Elect Richards described election process. Senators can vote be raising hands, or by ballots containing unit/department identification and senator signature on back. Moved to vote via ballot, seconded. Debated, moved to end debate (passed), question called and vote on motion (passed).

·         Ballots were distributed and collected.

o   Motion to postpone debate of the amended ad hoc committee motion be until next meeting. So Moved and seconded.

IV.              Adjournment – 4:27
