Welcome to Montana State University GEAR UP students, and welcome back returning upperclassmen! We are so excited to have you all here and to be of assistance to you and your academic needs as you navigate your first year of college. GEAR UP MSU is a safe space for you to ask any and all questions regarding school and your needs when it comes to school supplies and textbooks. We are also here to lend a listening ear and to be somewhere to go to when you need a little break. Our office, located on the second floor of the MSU Library, is consistently stocked with snacks and drinks and a comfy place to sit. Feel free to stop in and say hello to our staff, and good luck on the first semester!

  • “College is like a factory, the more effort you put in, the better results you will see.” -Patrick G, MSU Sophomore

  • “Things that come easy isn’t where growth comes from. Adversity pushes you to grow.” -Jacob E, MSU Sophomore

Meet a GEAR UP Student

Macy Hill

Macy Hill is a freshman from St. Regis, MT. She is currently studying biological sciences with a concentration in fish and wildlife ecology, however outside of class time she enjoys playing basketball, getting outdoors, and working with horses and cattle. After college, she hopes to work as a researcher and ecologist to provide data and new information for our education system.

Macy gets inspiration from her mother, who has taught her how to live efficiently, manage her time wisely, and above all treat others with the love and respect she treats Macy with. She has also instilled so much drive and motivation in Macy’s personality that has been such an amazing asset to her college journey so far.
